About Devious City
Devious City is an independent maker collective from Hanover, Germany, focused on open source, STEM education, practical learning and independence.
Open source
We share designs, code, documentation and build knowledge whenever licensing, agreements and project constraints allow it. Open work should be understandable, reusable and traceable, not merely deposited somewhere and forgotten.
STEM / MINT education
STEM, known as MINT in German-speaking countries, should be approachable. We value clear explanations, structured documentation and practical access to technology so learners can explore concepts at their own pace.
Practical learning
We learn by building. Ideas are designed, tested, debugged and improved in the real world. Useful documentation includes what failed and why, not only the polished result that survived the process.
Independence
We avoid unnecessary lock-in and prefer tools, formats and platforms that keep our work portable and maintainable. Independence also means taking responsibility for technical choices, quality and long-term usefulness.
We believe technology becomes most valuable when it is understood, shared and used to create something tangible.
