Resident Evil – Virus Transport Case

Project overview

The Resident Evil Virus Transport Case is an interactive display prop inspired by the fictional equipment of the Umbrella Corporation.

The complete installation is built into a rugged tactical transport case. It combines custom electronics, individually addressable lighting, temperature monitoring, 3D-printed mounting components and an animated display interface.

Three colour-coded virus vials form the centrepiece of the case. Each vial is illuminated independently from below using WS2812B LEDs. This highlights the different colours of the samples and makes it possible to create static illumination as well as animated startup and presentation sequences.

A compact colour display is integrated into the lower-right section of the case. It shows a temperature gauge alongside an animated Umbrella Corporation logo, giving the prop the appearance of an active biological sample monitoring system.

A Resident Evil-inspired injector is mounted beneath the vials and completes the visual appearance of a secure virus transport unit.

Electronics and control

An ESP32 acts as the central controller for the installation. It controls the vial illumination, reads the internal temperature sensor and updates the display interface.

The electronics and wiring are installed underneath the visible mounting panel. This keeps the presentation area clean, protects the components and allows the case to be transported without exposing the internal electronics.

Mechanical construction

The internal arrangement uses custom mounting parts to hold the vials, injector, display and electronics securely in place.

The design was created as a self-contained exhibition prop suitable for conventions, maker events and Resident Evil-themed installations.

Illuminated virus vials

Each vial is illuminated from below using individually addressable WS2812B LEDs, highlighting the different colours and allowing animated lighting effects.

Animated Umbrella interface

A compact colour display shows a temperature gauge together with an animated Umbrella Corporation logo.

Integrated temperature monitoring

An internal sensor measures the temperature inside the case and provides data for the on-screen gauge.

Tactical case construction

All props, electronics and custom mounting components are integrated into a rugged tactical transport case.
